Enhancements to streamline your workflow
Easily link to Overview Dashboards
We have updated our Overview page by removing the iframe. This change allows for two things:
- Improved performance for large projects.
- The ability to easily link to Overview dashboards. We’ve updated Overview dashboard URLs so you can directly copy a URL and share it with a colleague. If they follow the link, they’ll be taken directly to that dashboard view within the Overview page. It’s a super easy and quick way to share dashboards.
Compare any two clips in ftrack’s client review
You can now compare any two versions in a client review session—videos, PDFs, images, or audio files—even if they aren’t linked to the same asset. This new flexibility makes it easier to review different content side-by-side.
New integrations (Pre-Release): Connecting Animation and Editorial with production
Please note: these are Pre-Release integrations! We're looking for early adopters and feedback to build on these integrations for their full release in 2025. They are currently available in Pre-Release via the Connect Desktop application in the Plugin Manager. Just tick the checkbox marked ‘Pre-Release'.
ToonBoom Harmony integration (Pre-Release)
We’ve worked on integrating the Connect framework with Toon Boom Harmony. This integration allows for the smooth publishing of reviewable assets from Harmony to ftrack Studio and the ability to open ftrack Studio versions in Harmony, making your animation workflows more connected and efficient.
Autodesk Flame integration (Pre-Release)
For those of you who rely heavily on Autodesk Flame, we’ve heard you loud and clear. Our new integration allows for the simple publishing of reviewables from Flame to ftrack Studio.
Strengthened security: New features
Auditing information for users
We’ve added a feature that displays session activity data for each user. This information includes:
- The time of their last login (when they signed into their ftrack workspace)
- Their last interaction with the UI (the last time a user navigated in the UI)
- The last activity of the user's API key.
We hope this helps you feel more secure when using ftrack Studio and provides you with the information you need when you need it.
Global on/off switch for Upload and Download
Security is paramount, so we’re giving you more control over your content. We’ve introduced a global on/off setting for uploading and downloading media within the UI. Using this control, you can prevent your users from downloading or uploading content, adding an extra layer of protection.
Please note: This is currently a Global On/Off for your workspace. However, if you are using the API, you will retain access.
Private project permission
You can now control who can create private projects via permissions, giving you more control over project visibility.
Performance and usability improvements
- Enhanced webhooks page. A clearer listing of properties and action IDs simplifies automation tasks.
- Enhanced support for custom attribute links. Apply link-type custom attributes across both projects and objects for improved connectivity, reducing the need for multiple custom attributes.
- Refined scheduler filtering. Leave events now show in the user scheduler, giving a more complete view of team availability.
- Improved Overview dashboard navigation. The “Create Dashboard” button remains visible even with multiple dashboards, making navigation simpler.
- Overview scheduler enhancements. Better milestone alignment, infinite scrolling, and consistent theming improve the Overview scheduler’s usability.
- Optimized performance. Faster Overview page load times keep workflows moving, so teams can spend more time creating.
