Introducing the IP Allow List for Enterprise Security in ftrack (Enterprise Cloud only)
Safeguard your projects and maintain client trust with the IP Allow List!
This new Enterprise-only feature (for Enterprise cloud customers only) provides an extra layer of protection for your production environment by allowing administrators to restrict ftrack access to approved devices within secure networks.
By setting up an IP allow list or specifying MAC addresses, only authorized machines—such as office or designated remote devices—can log in, thus preventing unauthorized access and ensuring sensitive client data remains secure.
What is the IP Allow List?
The IP Allow List enables you to:
- Restrict Access: Limit logins to pre-approved IP addresses only.
- Protect Sensitive Data: Block unauthorized or suspicious access attempts automatically.
- Ensure Compliance: Meet industry security standards with ease.
How it works
- Navigate to System Settings > Security > IP Allow List to get started.
- Add trusted IP addresses or ranges using IPv4, IPv6, or CIDR block notation. For example, 192.168.0.0/16 allows a range of IPs for dynamic network configurations.
- Your current IP address is automatically added by default to ensure you don’t accidentally lose access.
- When you're ready, enable the restriction, and only approved addresses will have access to your ftrack Studio instance.

Please note:
- The IP Allow List feature is only available to Enterprise customers using ftrack in the cloud.
- This feature is not currently supported in China.
- Client review collaborators must be added to the Allow List to gain access.
Option to enable the new Actions UI
Users with System Settings access can now activate the new Actions UI for their entire workspace. While the feature is still in development, we’re offering the flexibility to try it out and take advantage of its enhanced functionality if you want to explore it early.
The new Actions UI is an update feature we have built using React, offering a more modern design and enhanced functionality. Key updates include:
- Entity Picker: Easily select from existing ftrack objects to streamline workflows.
- Improved Usability: Discover and execute actions for ftrack entities with a refined, intuitive interface.
- Future-Ready: Built on a modern tech stack, this update sets the stage for ongoing improvements and new features.
With this feature, you’ll experience a streamlined user experience with improved performance and one that allows actions to be run directly from Review sessions.
