Managing File Types

Protocols

Applications with registered protocols (e.g., .mb for Maya or .mov for RV) can be configured in ftrack Studio to launch the application from the Components tab in the Sidebar or when clicking a Version's thumbnail.

As an example, when protocols are set up, thumbnails and links can be clicked to bring up a QuickTime clip in RV or a Maya file in Maya.

Please note: Clickable thumbnails are always linked to the ‘main’ component.
