We are excited to announce that the release of our new ftrack Framework is just around the corner, designed for pipeline support in the creative industry. With this upgrade comes a significant update to the ftrack Framework, bringing forth a suite of enhancements tailored to meet the evolving needs of our customers.

The transition to our new framework marks a pivotal change, introducing a system that is not backward compatible with its predecessor. We understand the importance of a smooth transition for our users and will provide detailed guidance on how to migrate to the new framework without disrupting your workflows.

At the core of our new framework is simplicity and scalability. Whether you're expanding your pipeline or seeking efficient out-of-the-box solutions for publishing and review, our updated framework is designed to adapt effortlessly to your needs.

The out-of-the-box publishing and pipeline workflow has the following tools:

Publishing Tool UI

• Snapshot component ( Digital Content Creation (DCC) software extension file save )
• Write Description
• Set Status
• Generate thumbnail
• Save reviewable asset version (Depending on DCC this will either be an image or a movie file)
• And switch context(Change which task you want to be in).

Open Tool UI

• Open previously saved files by looking up the Snapshot component
• The option to Show All Assets
  • This means you can see assets published that are not in the current Task/Context that you are in.
• And switch context(Change which task you want to be in).

While these features build upon the basic functionality inherent in DCC integrations, our new framework is engineered to accommodate any pipeline requirement, no matter how complex.
