Introduction
ftrack Studio now supports the creation of custom attributes of type URL.
With custom attributes, you can now map a custom attribute type to Projects and Objects, ensuring consistency and reducing redundancy across your tasks and objects.

Step-by-Step Guide to Creating a URL Custom Attribute
Step 1: Access Custom Attributes Settings
- Navigate to System settings: Click on your profile picture in the top right corner and select System settings from the drop-down menu.
- Select Custom Attributes: From the left sidebar, scroll down to Workflow, and select Custom attributes.
Step 4: Create
- Create the Attribute: Click "Create" to open up the dialog window to create your custom attribute.
- Apply the Attribute: Once saved, the new URL custom attribute will be available for use across all projects, unless you have specified otherwise.
Using the URL Custom Attribute in Projects
Step 1: Access your Project
- Navigate to Your Project: Open the project where you want to use the custom attribute.
- Select the settings icon: Select Attributes > Custom Attributes from the gear menu at the top right of the Task Spreadsheet, and then select the URL type created previously.
NOTE: You will notice that the Custom Attributes that now use Project and Objects will have a check box apperance
Step 2: Add the URL
The new custom attribute is now in your spreadsheet as a new attribute column.
Double click the cell next to a task or object entity, indicated with a pencil icon
Double clicking will open a new modal whereby you can edit the URL path and give it a name that is displayed in the spreadsheet.
Step 3: Save Changes
Save the URL: Click Save Changes, or Cancel to proceed.
You will notice that there is a Remove URL option.
If you want to remove an existing URL, you double click the URL within the spreadsheet, and then click Remove URL
